Since I started my professional life back in 1997 I have always been working in the computer networking field with a strong focus on Cisco products and technologies. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to build my career around the two things that I enjoy most: figuring stuff out and then talking about it with others.
I love learning new technology and getting under the hood to find out how things really work and to see what you could build with it. I am always busy answering the basic questions: Why would you want this? What problems does it solve? How does it really work? Are there any limitations or problems?
However, as satisfying as the process of figuring stuff out is, I always find that it becomes even better when I can share my experiences with others and help them along in their journey on the paths that I just traveled. Sharing my passion for technology with others is what I enjoy most.
So, as a freelance trainer and consultant I have the best job in the world: I have the freedom to invest a lot of my time in learning new technologies and then I get to share my experiences with other engineers in the classroom and apply my knowledge while designing and building networks for my customers.
This blog is just another expression of these same principles. It helps me document the results of my research in new technologies, while also allowing me to share those experiences with others. I hope you enjoy reading these articles as much as I enjoyed creating them!
